A rock chip repair is an attempt to repair damaged glass to avoid replacing the entire windshield and is not guaranteed to fix all the damage. Most rock chips up to the size of a quarter can be repaired. Size, location, style, and depth of the rock chip will decide if the damaged area can be repaired or not.

The damaged windshield area may increase in size or develop additional cracks. Weather (temperature & air pressure), driving conditions, etc. can cause damage to spread. These problems are rare and usually occur in less than 1% of the rock chip repairs completed.

A rock chip repair usually takes approximately 30 minutes. The clarity of the damaged area may be enhanced following a rock chip repair, but a blemish will still exist.
